2022-2023 LSE PTA COMMITTEES
Thank you to everyone who signed up to serve on the many PTA committees your help is
appreciated! If you see a committee you’d like to join, we’d love to have your help! Please
email the chair or lintonptapre[email protected] to get connected to a committee. Thank you!
Advocacy Committee (Chair: Needs chairperson)
The Advocacy Committee brings important issues that require action to the attention of our
elected leaders. Goals of the committee include understanding and educating the community
on the issues and organizing advocacy efforts (letter writing, etc). Our highest priorities that
require attention include:
Sufficient budgets for replacing outdated or obsolete technology
Sufficient budgets for replacing worn-out educational materials
Elementary school playground replacement reinstated into CCPS Operating Budget
Cultural Arts Committee (Chair: PTA Vice President of Events, linto[email protected]om)
Search for creative ideas for cultural arts or other meaningful assemblies for the students.
This year we’re back to large school-wide assemblies. Get approval and schedule the
assemblies for the school.
5
th
Grade Committee (Chair: Sheri Hudspeth, lintonptavp@gmail.com)
Plans and coordinates events and activities for the 5th grade class, including the picnic and
promotion celebration. Coordinates fundraising/donation collection for the committee.
Fun Run Committee (Chair: Trish Phillips, lintonfunr[email protected])
Coordinates the Fun Run which is our biggest fundraiser. Sets up donation form online and on
paper. Solicits donations from area businesses to serve as raffle prizes for participants.
Coordinates class prize for the highest fundraising class. Runs event with volunteers.
Fundraising Committee (Chair: Needs chairperson)
Coordinates fundraisers such as pizza kit orders, gourmet pasta, or wreaths in the late fall.
Works with the companies to set up these fundraisers and communicate these fundraisers to
LSE families. Depending on the fundraiser, some items may be shipped to homes while others
may require sorting and delivering to the school to send home with students.
Holiday Shop Committee (Chair: Needs chairperson)
Purchases items to fill the holiday shop so that students can buy gifts for family and friends.
This year we are planning evening and/or weekend shopping hours rather than during the
school day. The committee is responsible for ordering items and running the event with
support from volunteers.
Hospitality Committee (Chair: Amy Hardesty, lintonptasec@gmail.com)
Teacher appreciation week is in early May and we usually coordinate a catered lunch and gift.
We also recognize staff on their designated days (administrative professionals, instructional
assistants, nurse, etc) and provide gifts/food during the school year.
Play Day (Field Day) Committee (Chair: Needs chairperson)
Works with the PE teachers to coordinate supplies need for the Play Day in the Spring (usually
late May). The PTA has a budget to cover participant medals, ribbons, ice pops, extra water
bottles, etc. Jobs include purchasing supplies and coordinating (making a sign-up genius) for
volunteers for the day.
Restaurant Nights Committee (Chair: Needs chairperson)
Coordinate restaurant nights as fundraisers during the year. This includes making the
arrangements, handling any flyers (electronic or paper), working with communications
committee to publicize the nights, submitting checks for earned funds. Chick-fil-A Restaurant
Nights have already been set up for this year so it would be just filling in others.
Spirit Committee (Co-chairs: Allison Gordon, allisongordon14@gmail.com and Laura Vanadio,
lmvanadio23@gmail.com)
Plans and runs events and activities for LSE families including things like a Trunk or Treat,
Carnival night, Spring Fling Dance, Movie Night, Bingo Night, etc. Event planning, flyers,
tickets, decorations, etc are coordinated by this committee.
Spirit Wear Committee (Chair: Kelley Dunn, kdunn@amsofusa.com)
Contacts spirit wear companies and works with them to design logos, shirts and determines
items to be sold. Committee is responsible for sharing ordering information with LSE families,
collecting and organizing payments and order forms. Committee sorts and distributes spirit
wear.
Starbucks School Store Committee (Co-chairs: Stacy Bryant, stacymariebryant@gmail.com
and Gina Kynaston, gkynaston@gmail.com)
Students can redeem their earned StarBucks/Class Dojo points at the PTA’s Starbucks School
Store for fun pencils, erasers, squishy balls, etc. The committee is responsible for purchasing
the supplies, scheduling volunteers to run the Starbucks School Store, and replenishing as
needed within the budget.
Veterans Day Activities (Chair: Kati Pierce, k.pierce1[email protected])
The PTA is planning Veterans Day Activities including a Breakfast for the Brave, a handprint
flag to decorate the halls, and a Wall of Honor.
